Singing for Their Supper - Masters of Harmony perform to benefit St. Vincent Meals on Wheels
Come enjoy an evening of perfect harmony with the six-time medal-winning choral group Masters of Harmony at the Historic Ebell Theatre. All event proceeds benefit St. Vincent Meals on Wheels. Based in Santa Fe Springs, California, Masters of Harmony—an all-male chorus, uniting over 100 voices—is dedicated to musical excellence and the preservation of the uniquely American style of music known as "Barbershop." St. Vincent Meals on Wheels 30th Anniversary Party: 7/7/07!
Thirty years to the day of our program’s founding, nearly 300 friends met at the St. Vincent Meals on Wheels Kitchen to celebrate 30 years of dedication to L.A.’s hungry and homebound. The event, chaired by Deborah Lanni, Barbara Lazaroff and Wolfgang Puck, raised funds for home-delivered meals and recognized supporters and volunteers who helped the organization in reaching this milestone. Tom LaBonge, L.A. City Councilmember, presented St. Vincent Meals on Wheels Founder Sister Alice Marie Quinn with a proclamation honoring Meals on Wheels thirty years of service to the people of Los Angeles.

Annual Beach Bike/Walk-a-thon raises over $47,000 for St. Vincent Meals on Wheels
Over 150 bike riders and walkers attended the 12th Annual Beach Bike/Walk-a-thon on April 22, 2007. Families enjoyed a walk or a ride at the Santa Monica beach while supporting St. Vincent Meals on Wheels. This is an annual event for St. Vincent Meals on Wheels. The event next year will be the Lucky 13 Annual Beach Bike Walk-a-thon on April 13, 2008. Interested in joining this energetic and generous crowd, either to sponsor, to walk or to bike? The who’s who of the culinary world will descend on Los Angeles for the 25th Anniversary American Wine and Food Festival, presented by Lexus. The star-studded gathering of an estimated 40 celebrated chefs and more than 70 fine wine and spirit purveyors will unite to benefit Los Angeles Meals on Wheels.

For the last two years, this event has sold out days in advance, so watch for the date in September 2008 and buy your tickets early!

A Thanksgiving Visit from the Governor and his family!
Govenor Arnold SchwarzeneggerGoverner Arnold SchwarzeneggerOn Wednesday, November 22, 2006, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, along with his wife and son, visited St. Vincent Meals on Wheels.  The Governor spoke to the staff and volunteers, and then gave a hand in the kitchen preparing meals.  Later he and his family helped to deliver meals to two of our clients.  It was an honor to be recognized by the Governor and it was a day we’ll never forget!

The Nation’s Largest Privately Funded Senior Hunger Program to Pay Tribute to Pioneering Religious Order Dedicated to Serving the Sick & Poor
St. Vincent Meals on Wheels, the country’s largest, privately-funded meals program, will honor the Daughters of Charity Foundation for its generous support and dedication at the Angel Ball on Friday, June 2, 2006. The black-tie gala, which will feature musical entertainment by Shana Morrison and a live auction hosted by Doug Savant of Desperate Housewives, will raise much-needed funds for St. Vincent Meals on Wheels. Excerpt: Mayor of Los Angeles Antonio Villaraigosa will join the nationwide March For Meals on Tuesday, March 28 at St. Vincent Meals on Wheels near downtown Los Angeles as part of the March For Meals campaign. Harrah’s Foundation Presents $30,000 Meal Delivery Van to St. Vincent Meals on Wheels
The Harrah’s Foundation will donate a new $30,000 2006 Ford Freestar SE meal delivery van at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2005 at the St. Vincent Meals on Wheels Kitchen located at 2201 Miramar Street in Los Angeles.  Anne Sheridan, Harrah’s Corporate Director of Community Relations, will present the delivery vehicle to Sr. Alice Marie Quinn, founder and executive director of St. Vincent Meals on Wheels.
