» Watch NowIn 2009, we helped clients stay safe and healthy through a variety of lifeline services. Nurses from St. Vincent Medical Center visited clients to assess unmet health needs. Seniors received help with medications, walkers, and canes and were referred to medical care when needed. Our outreach workers offered assistance to those suffering form depression, poor health or other difficulties. If clients were not able to live alone safely, we got them help to move to an appropriate setting.
St. Vincent Meals on Wheels by the Numbers
From January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2009, the program served a total of 1,098,017 meals—an average of 3,008 meals per day.

Volunteers Turn Out in Record Numbers
More than 300 volunteers served the hunry during 2009, including many new students and adults who came to work in the kitchen, drive delivery vans or deliver meals to client's tables.
Support Groups Grow to Meet Growing Needs
Circle of Angels: More than 350 members provided a circle of love and support for our clients by making gifts of $500 to $50,000 in 2009.
The Breakfast Club: 311 Breakfast Club members donated $1 or more a day to deliver a daily breakfast (in addition to a hot meal) to clients who depend on us for everything they eat.
Cuisine a Roulettes: Members of Cuisine raised funds, volunteer support and awareness through events including the 2009 Angel Award Luncheon and the Annual Beach Walk/Bike-a-Thon.
Adopt a Route: Several corporations and individuals "adopted" routes of about 30 meals clients on a weekly, monthly or annual basis.
